Desktop boredom. You know it well. It's when you sit idle at your PC and play the same old game: right click - refresh. Real Desktop brings a breeze of fresh air to our desktops in a smart and fun way. Yes, it's another desktop toy, but trust me, this one is different.

The installation goes like clockwork even if the wizard proposes an extra tool bar for your browser and other stuff. The installation package is 8 Mb is size so even if your Internet is slow, there's no need to bring out the whip to make it work faster. Just have a little patience. It's worth it.

Real Desktop doesn't just make some interesting tricks with your desktop like change transparencies or creates new and more handy hot keys. It essentially changes it from the ground up. The main thing you'll notice, when you run the program, is that your desktop will be in 3D and you can change the camera angle. It will be like a playground. Icons are managed in a rather new and exciting way. No more simple clicking and dragging. They be placed on the "ground" and you can pick them up, rotate or throw them somewhere in a corner, all done with great ease. Do you want to delete a shortcut? Grab it, hover it over the recycle bin and drop it. You can add some decorations like a house plant or a soccer ball which can be thrown around and bounced off the wall.

If you're tidy person, your desktop can become a real mess - icons and other stuff can get piled up. So if you don't want important shortcuts, pictures, or a sticky note with an crucial reminder to end up in that pile, you can simply pin them on the wall. Real Desktop offers a great deal of ways to customize your new and improved desktop. Change the colour of the entire work space, place a background picture on a certain wall and many more options.

pro:
There isn't much to be said. Real Desktop brings up a great and new perspective to the same old, tired Windows desktop. It's really easy and fun to use. It's a wonder that Microsoft haven't thought of this.

con:
The single possible downside is not even related to the mechanics or looks of the program. The free version of Real Desktop is a bit restrictive. But if you buy the professional version, you will have access to all it's great features and you'll see that it's absolutely worth it.

Make your old, obsolete Windows desktop into your own, fully customizable room. With Real Desktop, your workspace will never be dull again.
